    Graduate School Admission

KAIST Graduate School of AI has three admission tracks: MS, MS+PhD, and PhD. For all of these tracks, you will need to be admitted to both the program (officially by the school) and our lab's application process (using the form above) to join our lab. You will first go through the lab’s application process, and then the school’s application process.

  • For all of the programs, you will apply around one month before the school’s official application deadline (that is, mid March for Fall and mid June for Spring).
  • Lab application decision will be out two weeks within two weeks of submitting your application, i.e. early April and early July respectively and I will write an intent for supervision letter (지도의햄서) for your department (school) application. Note that this does NOT guarantee your admission to the program and you will need to go through the department's interview process (it guarantees your spot in our lab if you get admitted to the program, though)
  • For MS applicants, it is still possible that you apply to the program without Minjoon’s intent for supervision. If you get admitted to the program and you are still interested in our lab, please email Minjoon and he will let you know if we have an extra opening. Note that the existence of extra opening is not guaranteed and depends on external conditions.
  • or MS+PhD and PhD applicants, Minjoon’s intent for supervision is mandatory.
  • For the PhD program, you will need to hold an MS degree in a relevant field.
  • International Students

We currently do not have an opening for international students. We will let you know here once we do.
